Coming out of prison in 1989, Barry went into Teen Challenge Long Island and was the first graduate in 1990. Barry spent eight months at the Teen Challenge Training Center in Rehrersburg, Pennsylvania. He graduated in February 1991 and came back to Teen Challenge Long Island as an intern. Three months into the internship, Barry was called to Seventh Day Baptist Church in Battlecreek, Michigan. After serving there for three years, he was called to a Baptist church in Virginia Beach as an Associate pastor. Barry served at the church for three years and then was called back to Teen Challenge Long Island to serve as Pastor of Outreach. It was during this time that Barry became the founder of “Hoop Challenge” which opened up the mission field of the world. Through “Hoop Challenge” Barry was able to minister in Russia, Ukraine, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Haiti. After serving at Teen Challenge Long Island for 18 years, he then moved on to Greensborough, North Carolina and served at Malachi house as an assistance director for two years.  In 2010, Barry was called to Adult & Teen Challenge New England & New Jersey where he currently serves as a mentor and prison chaplain. He travels and speaks in public schools and outreaches as part of Adult & Teen Challenge’s “End Addiction” Campaign. Barry also serves as a mentor to the Residents in the Adult & Teen Challenge Massachusetts program. Barry is always ready to preach the gospel wherever the Lord will take him.
